...does one exist? I really like the concept of the skill. | Posted by Route1 on Aug 25, 2014, 5:08:04 PM |

this is the one i am going with. it has 1 handed mace in mind but can easily be tweaked for 2handed mace or staves Build http://poeurl.com/yX8cdDB Last edited by dcndnts on Aug 25, 2014, 6:19:12 PM | Posted by on Aug 25, 2014, 6:12:59 PM |
' what is your gem setup like? | Posted by Route1 on Aug 25, 2014, 6:31:27 PM |
Glacial Hammer/Melee Physical/Multistrike/Splash/Weapon Elemental/ and then your choice of faster attacks or added cold for a 6link option | Posted by on Aug 25, 2014, 6:45:44 PM |
Nice. Hmmm would cold snap work well? I'm thinking you snap a big group then just use GH on them to finish them off. | Posted by Route1 on Aug 25, 2014, 7:29:34 PM |
Im using this with a staff: Passive skill tree build I like it but i really need a 5 (or 6) link but sadly i dont have it. I dont play that much and people seem to want some crazy amount of chaos orbs for them. Iv slotted glacial hammer + weap elemental dmg + melee physical + splash and it works pretty well, do mind the attack speed on staffs is pretty low but they do hit hard so they freeze for a good while. Next im heading to the armor / health cluster below the templar start and will respec the dex nodes when i got enough of it / stopped using gems that requires it. (been experimenting with temporal chains and arctic armor). | Posted by Verinas on Aug 25, 2014, 9:07:53 PM |
I'm guessing temporal chains, enfeeble and enduring cry would be good on cast on damage taken for this. Wonder how herald of ice would work with GH? Last edited by Route1 on Aug 25, 2014, 10:14:05 PM | Posted by Route1 on Aug 25, 2014, 10:12:38 PM |

As was already noted, multi/splash/wed/glacial hammer/added fire/x. I use coldsnap/trap/prolif as a ranged freeze/cc before shield charge in and shatter away. Pretty fun build and decent survivability once you get your freezes going. Dual curse is recommended for sustainability through warlord's mark and frostbite. Use cold to fire with herald of ice for free damage, as there is no multiplier on the gem. Hatred and Herald are all you need really. The real problem with the build is attack speed, so getting resolute technique and unwavering stance are very helpful in making sure you are attacking like a lumbering beast with to interruption (aside from chill/freeze). The real glory of glacial hammer is the 1/3 shatter on freeze, as the synergy with herald of ice causes a chain reaction of exploding icebergs. Have fun with it. Thanks man! We should use this threat to make an official community GH build... | Posted by Route1 on Aug 26, 2014, 7:04:06 PM |
This melee AoE build is a fair bit different from other MF builds we’ve covered. While it relies on freeze mechanics and elemental damage scaling to wipe out mob packs, it makes use of a specific Unique weapon in pairs to buff DPS enough to take on bosses as well. I went templar and i'm trying to figure out what end game might look like gear wise and how far this build can get into mapping Thanks. Login Store Community Support Change language View desktop website. Path of Exile. There are a couple of Glacial Hammer builds on the PoE forums. I don't have any idea how effective they are in HC though. The Templar represents Strength and Intelligence, and fights with staves and sceptres. He can become a spellcaster or use elemental damage to perform melee attacks. The Templar's Ascendancy classes are Inquisitor, Hierophant, and Guardian. Depending on the amount of armour you can get you might want to run CWDT molten shell it is extremely powerful for damage mitigation You can buy a helm armour base with glacial hammer phys as extra cold for 10-20c and craft it using frigid and pristine fossils for a large amount of life and nearby enemies have -cold res like this one.
' Sure, if you get a 5 or 6L, use it. | Posted by on Oct 8, 2017, 10:17:18 AM |
Update of the build (1st page): New skill tree (more life, one additional jewel slot) New amulet recommendations (Bisco's for everything up to Tier 16 - The Pandemonius for Shaper/Uber-Atziri) Added Frost Bomb into the CWDT setup (for more damage) Last edited by chedrich on Oct 8, 2017, 10:54:59 AM | Posted by on Oct 8, 2017, 10:53:57 AM |
Would a straight up 400 Pdps 1h mace be better? I'm planning on making this in standard once harbinger ends since I've loved GH since PoE first got out of beta... This seems like the first legit build I've seen and don't mind dropping some exalt on it. 15% reduced Enemy Stun Threshold 163% increased Physical Damage?? Adds 24 to 41 Physical Damage P? 12% increased Attack Speed S6 +4 Mana gained on Kill S1 +3 to Accuracy Rating I saw this mace for a few exalt in standard. I could afford, or is doriani still better option? | Posted by on Oct 8, 2017, 5:12:22 PM |
' The threshold compared to my Doryani's (330 pDPS, 87% + 32% Ele Damage) seems pretty close to 400 pDPS (give or take some single digit DPS) according to Path of Building. That means - if you can go for something with 420+ pDPS then yes, I would recommend going for a rare. Otherwise stick with a solid Doryani's. | Posted by on Oct 8, 2017, 6:57:31 PM |

' Here you go: https://pastebin.com/9nrUVS0q In order to receive some realistic Shaper figures, remove the charges from the configuration (You won't gonna be able to sustain charges against the Shaper) and replace Bisco's with The Pandemonius. | Posted by on Oct 10, 2017, 11:20:11 PM |
Hey, Awesome build. I'm at 90 level right now, and decided to add cold snap instead of golem. What do you think about that? | Posted by on Nov 5, 2017, 1:54:47 PM |
